Betta Channoides

BETTA CHANNOIDES (Kottelat & Ng, 1994)

Betta Channoides is one of the betta fish from B. Albimarginata Complex.

There are currently 73 recognized species in this genus. The currently described Betta species can be grouped into complexes for conservation purposes (This grouping of species makes no claim at representing a phylogenetic reality).

Distribution:
Native to the island of Borneo where it has been collected in both Brunei Darussalam and parts of the Malaysian state of Sarawak with type locality Akar River, Sarawak state, Borneo, East Malaysia.

Mouthbrooding, also known as oral incubation and buccal incubation, is the care given by some groups of animals to their offspring by holding them in the mouth of the parent for extended periods of time.
